Beautiful Feet: Living on Mission with Jesus

“In order to turn an 18-wheeler, you have to get it moving!” – Justin Rossow.

This was just one of many insightful comments shared at the Beautiful Feet Mission Conference, held at Concordia University, St. Paul, from November 7–9, 2024. Every year, students from Concordia Universities across the nation attend this conference to learn more about living on mission with Jesus. They hear from domestic and international missionaries, interact with mission agencies, worship together, discuss their experiences in small groups, and go out into the host city to witness about Jesus through words and deeds.

Here are a few reflections from students at Concordia Texas:

“My favorite part of Beautiful Feet was the worship. It brings me so much joy to join with other faithful believers to worship God in obedience to the call He has on each of our lives—to go out into our communities and into all the earth to spread the Good News of Jesus!”
– Nathanael Schraeder

“I am glad I went to Beautiful Feet. I felt God’s Spirit fill me. I found that God is moving me to go into ministry!”
– Kathawren Mize

“My favorite part of Beautiful Feet was both the worship and small group discussion time. I will be back next year!”
– Cade Ehlers

“The best part about Beautiful Feet was being reminded that the God we worship is the same God worshiped across the nation and around the world.”
– Isabelle Finley

“I love attending Beautiful Feet because of the learning and growth that happens.”
– Abby Jahnke

“I loved growing in my faith with my close friends by my side.”
– Eli Garrabrant

“Overall, I’m glad I came again and was able to grow more. God works in crazy ways! He knows the plans He has for you. Trust in Him and take His hand.”
– Lilli Hernandez

“I learned that I can always grow where I am planted in each season and trust that the Lord is working in every circumstance.”
– Raley Ehlers

“One of the most beautiful things I am still learning is that when God flows through us to others, He also leaves something of Himself inside us for our own renewal. I am now in ‘service learning,’ and I’m also ‘learning service.’”
– Katie Light

“I loved the keynotes and the sessions, especially the first session about genuinely sharing the Gospel with our friends.”
– Luke Henry

“I loved learning about how to be on mission ‘Here, There, and Everywhere!’”
– Andrew Couser

“Oh man! God’s grace and mercy are so BEAUTIFUL! It’s always fun to reconnect with old friends and see how God is at work!”
– Ty Broyles

Justin Rossow’s analogy rings true: “In order to turn a semi—get people involved in missions—you have to get them moving!” Don’t be afraid to try something. Invite a friend to coffee. Help your neighbor. Volunteer, serve, and pray.

“But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.” – 1 Peter 3:15
