Undergraduate Teacher Education

Overview

An Education major will prepare you to begin a teaching career in public, private, and charter schools with preschool through high school students. You will understand theories of learning and development, as well as the best practices for instructional strategies and assessment.  You will also discover how to be responsive to the diverse needs of today's learners. The Education major also prepares students for graduate work in education leadership and curriculum and instruction.

Field Experience

Education majors participate in a wide variety of fieldwork outside of the classroom. Through community and school involvement, they are prepared to fully understand the entry-level teaching profession. Education majors' capstone course is student teaching, in which they complete a 14-week internship in a local classroom.

Learning Environment

CTX Education students experience a wide variety of learning experiences, including hands-on, experiential, problem-based learning and direct instruction.
