Concordia Youth Ministry (CYM)

CYM 2013 Theme

Thank you for your interest in Concordia Youth Ministry! We hope this page will serve as a good resource for you and for the youth of your congregation!

CYM consists of students from Concordia who have a passion for youth ministry. It exists to share the love of Christ with youth. Our team would love to come serve your church by running a youth night, overnight lock-in, by facilitating a service project, or any other ideas you have.  We also work with the Texas Juvenile Justice Department by doing worship services, Bible studies, and mentoring the youth at a juvenile correctional facility.  We desire to reach an unreached population.

Our Theme Verse for the 2013-2014 school year is "Created in HIS Image" - taken from 1 Peter 2:9 which says: "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

Identity formation is a big part of development during teenage years. Our goal for this year is to help youth understand who they are and form their identity in Christ. The world throws so many negative labels at youth that can give them the wrong idea of who they really are. We want to encourage the youth to abandon the negative lables and tell them who they really are and who they are called to be. They are Created in HIS Image and called to live in the light.
