Joel Rahn is the Academic Computing Manager.
He was born in Minnesota and has lived in Iowa, Colorado, California, and Texas. He graduated from Christ College, Irvine, CA (now Concordia, Irvine). After teaching high school for 7 years, Joel earned his Masters in Education Technology from Azusa Pacific University. He taught junior high for 3 more years before coming to Concordia, here in Austin. At Concordia, Joel has been in charge of Academic Computing. His primary responsibilities are to support and encourage the faculty in their use of technology on campus. In this role, he is in charge of the course management system (currently Blackboard), classroom equipment, and other technologies that support student learning in and out of the classroom.
