Chad Thompson, partner at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans©, kicks off Money Week at Concordia University Texas with a presentation on “Spending Smart” on Monday, April 15 at 11:30am in Concordia’s chapel/auditorium.
Money Week is hosted by Money Revolution, a student-led organization intent on encouraging and assisting college students in learning the information they need to make wise financial decisions for the present and for their futures.
Money Revolution is currently a pilot program that is being tested across the nation by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans© in the hope that they can bring financial awareness to one of the places it is needed most, college campuses. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans© is a member owned Fortune 500 non-profit financial services and consulting company.
Returning member Krista Hook, a communication major, is joined by new members Tim Black, a business management major, and Skye Truss, a business finance major, to complete the Concordia University Texas 2012-2013 edition of Money Revolution.
“We’ve all put a lot of time into Money Revolution this semester so we are hoping to see that pay off with a big turnout for Money Week,” said Skye Truss.
The entire community is invited to Money Week events. Details can be found on the campus calendar and on bulletin boards throughout campus.
“No matter the number of people that show,” said Tim Black, “our goal still remains the same: to help our fellow Concordia students ‘get smart’ about their finances... and have a lot of fun doing it!”
